Spa-Francorchamps Driving Experience

The story behind the laps
In August 2017, I took part in the Public Driving Experience at the world-famous race track of Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes.
After a briefing about the track day and a short visit to race control, we took two laps riding shotgun in a Mégane RS, piloted by a professional race driver. Then it was time to hit the track in our own cars. As this is a public driving experience the speed was limited to 100 km/h, with a pace car between every ten cars to keep everyone at a safe pace — but it was still a great thrill to drive my own Corvette C7 around the circuit. The two laps above are the time-lapse result.
Fittingly, the E42 motorway right next to this circuit is where the first camera car met its gravel moment back in 2000. Things have improved since.
