Spa-Francorchamps Public Driving Experience
The Corvette C7 on the most beautiful track in the world.
August 2017: the SpeedyCam Corvette C7 drove two laps of the Spa-Francorchamps race track during a Public Driving Experience — speed-limited to 100 km/h, but with the time-lapse camera rolling the whole way.
In August 2017, I participated in the Public Driving Experience at the world-famous race track of Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes.
After a briefing about the track day and a short visit to race control, we took two laps riding shotgun in a Mégane RS, piloted by a professional race driver.
Then it was time to hit the track in our own cars. As this is a public driving experience, the speed was limited to 100 km/h and there was a pace car between every 10 cars in order to slow everybody down to a safe speed. Nonetheless it was a great experience to drive my own car around the track.

Fittingly, the E42 right next to this circuit is where the first camera car met its gravel moment back in 2000. Things have improved since. For more laps and roads, watch the Belgian road movies.
